Both the USA Poultry and Egg Export Council and National Chicken Council applaud U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman for requesting WTO action against China for failing to eliminate anti-dumping duties on U.S. chicken exports. Poultry and Egg Export Council President Jim Sumner says China is a key market for chicken feet or paws.

He says in the past China had been a much larger export customer for U.S. poultry.

Sumner says the U.S. poultry industry wants positive trade relations with China. He says they hate to resort to going to the WTO for resolution but he believes it’s a necessary action at this time.

Sumner says there have been market access issues with China for over three years now and quick resolution is needed on the problem.
