National Cattlemen Beef Association officials are pleased to see progress being made between the European Union and United Kingdom ON a post Brexit deal. Vice President of Government Affairs Ethan Lane says both the U.K. and E.U. present great market potential for U.S beef and this latest progress should help in U.S. negotiations with them.
He says it will take a lot of negotiating to get past non tariff trade barriers to get a trade pact with both the United Kingdom and European Union.
Lane says it would likely help if the U.S. could carve an agreement with the U.K. first and then use that to spring board to an agreement with the European Union.
The British Parliament is likely to ratify the deal this week.
