South Dakota legislators will consider bills that would change the number of petition signatures needed to refer or initiate a bill, and to amend the constitution. Now, the signatures are based on the number of votes cast in the last election for Governor. Proposed bills would change that to a percentage of total registered voters.

Doug Kronaizl (crow-ny-zll) of Vermillion was involved in the IM22 campaign………

Kronaizl says state voters have had a pretty good track record at the ballot box….

Kronaizl says the current petition rules have been in place for some time….

Hearings on the petition change bills were delayed until later in the legislative session.
