President Donald Trump wants to proceed with another $200 billion in tariffs on Chinese imports. That could happen as early as this week. That’s concerning to most facets of U.S. agriculture. Minnesota Pork Producers Association President Greg Boerboom says he and his fellow producers remain hopeful the President will resolve this problem and there won’t be any more tariffs or retaliation.

He’s hoping resolution talks between the U.S. and China get restarted.

Boerboom says the tariffs just increase the economic pressure America’s pork producers are under with many struggling just to keep their head above water.

It’s possible the tariffs will either come in installments or several weeks after an official announcement.
