The Minnesota State Legislature finalized a $52 billion state budget during their Special Session in June and during their regular session approved several measures that were priorities of the State Farm Bureau. President Kevin Paap says it was a long session but a very positive one for farmers and ranchers.

He says the tax measures state lawmakers approved will be beneficial.

Paap says passage of health care bills were important and needed wins for agriculture.

Paap says another critical measure that got across the finish line was passage of a $7.27 billion transportation bill that will fund local bridge improvements, and increase funding for town roads. He says legislators passed that without including any tax increases.
