The Wheat Quality Council’s hard red winter wheat tour kicked off Tuesday with participants going from Manhattan, to Colby and on to Wichita. Wheat Quality Council Executive Vice President Dave Green says the weather’s been good and the wheat is looking positive so far.

He says the average yield is looking very good in Central Kansas.

Green says he hasn’t seen any frost or disease damage.

The tour finishes up Thursday in Manhattan.
