Positive Report From FDA On Milk Residues

An FDA report shows the country’s milk supply is safe and virtually free of drugs. The Milk Drug Residue Sampling survey tested almost 2,000 raw milk samples for 31 different drugs and got positive results in only 0.7 percent of the samples. National Milk Producer Federation’s Chris Galen says that report shows the great work U.S. dairy producers are doing.

Galen says the FDA study refutes many myths out there that ag producers are not being responsible with their use of antibiotics.

Galen says dairy producers are using antibiotics if their animals are sick. He says dairy farmers have a strong track record of compliance with state and federal milk safety regulations and also support education and enforcement efforts to further strengthen that record.
