The Senate has yet to confirm President Biden’s nominee Elaine Trevino for the position of Chief Ag Trade Negotiator at the U.S. T.R’s office. South Dakota Stock Grower’s Association Executive Director James Halverson says having those people in charge pushing for U.S. trade deals is critical for the nations’ livestock producers.
He says even though independent cattle producers aren’t getting as much of the dollar with their markets as the packers, getting people in place to foster and enhance trade deals is critical.
