Backers of the Port Yankton project will now consider a state-wide petition drive to put a constitutional amendment on next year’s ballot.
The state Senate defeated an amendment resolution yesterday Monday on a vote of twenty-two to thirteen.
Yankton Area Progressive Growth C.E.O. Nancy Wenande says their planning committee will meet again this week….
Wenande says it will be expensive to mount a petition drive..
Wenande says they plan on getting a large number of signatures…
Those signatures have to be turned in to the Secretary of State in early November.
