Backers of the proposed Port Yankton casino are waiting for debate on the needed constitutional amendment. The joint resolution has not yet been set for a committee hearing.

Representative Jean Hunhoff of Yankton says opposition from tribes and others was not a surprise…..

Hunhoff says backers of the plan believe there would be benefits for all types of gaming…….

Hunhoff says there will be some action in the next couple of weeks…..

If the amendment is not approved during the session, backers may look to petition the amendment on to the 2020 ballot.
