Eight chefs will compete in the 27th Annual Taste of Elegance Contest this Sunday in Sioux Falls. The event is organized by the South Dakota Pork Producers Council and Program Director Stacey Sorlien says the culinary competition brings in chefs from all over the state and encourages them to create innovative and exciting recipes using pork.

The chefs can use any of the cuts of pork to develop their recipes. The dishes will be evaluated by four esteemed judges including Charlie Torgerson of Famous Dave’s. The scores will be based on flavor, appearance and originality.

The judging takes place in the morning, with the winners to be announced at the banquet and public tasting event that evening starting at 5pm. Tickets are still available through the South Dakota Pork Producers Council.
