A delegation of South Dakota Pork Producer Council leaders are in Washington D.C. this week meeting with members of Congress. South Dakota Pork Council President Lester  Moeller says their major concern is that Congress needs to approve the Trans Pacific Partnership as well as Trade Promotion Authority.

Moeller says their second major priority is asking Congress to fix the Country of Origin Labeling law to avoid retaliation expected from Canada and Mexico should the WTO rule against the United States next month.

Moeller says the other major concerns they expressed to lawmakers is the need to stop EPA from implementing the Waters of the U.S. rule as well as amending the dietary guidelines to not exclude meat.
