Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts led a trade mission to Mexico for threedays this week. One of those taking part was Nebraska Pork Producers Association President Darin Uhlir. He says they had a successful trip and the Mexicans they spoke with talked about how they like the commodities they get from the United States and want to continue doing business with us.
He says Nebraska’s farmers and ranchers do a lot of business with Mexico and this trip helped solidify that relationship
Uhlir says the opportunity for increased future business with Mexico is quite bright.
Uhlir says although Mexican consumers are eating a lot of chicken and eggs because of the lower cost but with the growing middle class, there’s been more demand for both pork and meat.
