The Iowa State Fair recently announced the top 20 new foods to be featured at this year’s State Fair.  Coming in at number 3 is the “pork picnic in a cup” introduced by the Iowa Pork Producers Association.  Hanna Spurr is the Consumer Outreach Director with the Iowa Pork Producers Association and talks about the pork picnic in a cup.

Spurr says it was the Pork Tent Committee that created the new state fair food item.

The Iowa Pork Producers’ consumer outreach director says the pork picnic in a cup will be featured only at the Iowa Pork Tent and is served in a 20- ounce cup that will sell for ten dollars.

Spurr believes the new pork picnic in a cup will be a high demand food item at this year’s Iowa State Fair.

The Iowa State Fair begins on August 11th and continues through August 21st.
