The U.S. pork and dairy industries are supporting President-elect Joe Biden’s choice of Katherine Tai as the next U.S. Trade Representative. Trade is critical to the pork industry and Nebraska Pork Producer Association Executive Director Al Juhnke says if confirmed, Tai would bring great experience to the job.

He says one of the positives Tai has is her background dealing with China.

Juhnke is hoping the Biden administration looks at expanding trade by not just seeking bilateral pacts but also working on multilateral deals.

From 2007 to 2014 Tai worked at the U.S. Trade Representative’s office where she successfully prosecuted several cases on Chinese trade practices at the World Trade Organization.
