Over the weekend, Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton held a water summit that drew 800 participants. One of those was Minnesota Pork Executive Director Dave Preisler. He says there were such a wide of variety of topics and ideas it’s tough to gauge what may come out of it.

The water summit was held just ahead of the March 8 opening of the Minnesota Legislative session. Preisler says he doesn’t see many regulations being proposed in the state legislature coming out of the summit. He thinks there will be several funding bills however.

Preisler also doesn’t see much tweaking done during the legislative session on the Governor’s Buffer Zone Initiative as they’re still awaiting DNR maps on effected areas.

Preisler says everything from sewer and water systems along with water quality were talked about at the summit.
