Developing the next generation of professionals through the National Pork Board’s Pork Scholars program has opened the door for those like Caitlyn Sullivan, a master’s student at South Dakota State University. Sullivan’s thesis uses hybrid rye as an alternative energy source, measuring growth in finisher pigs. She’s excited to share her findings with those in the industry. The benefits expand beyond the barn door. Sullivan says she feels honored to be a part of the National Pork Board Scholars program and to interact with professionals, producers and researchers.
