South Dakota legislators are a ways off from debating the Governors plan to cut the four and a half percent sales tax on groceries. But there is plenty of ongoing discussions.
Senator Jean Hunhoff of Yankton, Chair of the Joint Committee on Appropriations, says she hasn’t decided yet….

Hunhoff says she has questions about what is driving the state’s economy and sales tax collections….

Hunhoff says they need more information on future sales tax projections….

The sales tax talk will be folded into the overall budget debate toward the end of the session.
