POET plans to expand production capacity at its corn ethanol plant in Hudson, South Dakota. Plant Manager Jeremy Halgerson says the Hudson facility was chosen for the expansion for a number of economic reasons.
He says the increased ethanol production at Hudson will also result in an expansion of their co-product volume.
Halgerson says being able to expand is very positive considering the EPA’s recent decision not to increase the RFS volume levels to the statutory levels.
POET’s Hudson facility employs about 40 people with an annual payroll of around $1.5 million.
