POET biorefineries in South Dakota, Iowa and Michigan are expanding their ethanol production capacity by a combined total of 25 million gallons this year. POET’s Matt Merritt says the three are in Hudson, South Dakota, Hanlontown, Iowa, and Caro, Michigan. He says they’re trying to maximize their production capabilities at those plants.
He says POET is able to make these expansions despite the EPA backing off on RFS volume levels for 2014,15 and 16. Merritt says this will lead to more higher blends of ethanol being used.
Merritt says POET set production records at 17 of their biorefineries in 2015.
