POET Founder and CEO Jeff Broin announced this week a $ 2 million gift for construction of the Precision Agriculture Facility at South Dakota State University. He says POET has had a strong history of collaborating on innovative research projects and training the next generation to use agriculture to solve the world’s most growing issues. Broin says being involved with this Precision Initiative shows their commitment to ag education and sustainable agriculture.

He says the donation allows POET to work with SDSU on full time research on campus and work on possible developing a bioprocessing minor and major.

Broin says POET, SDSU and agriculture has a great opportunity here to address climate change going forward.

POET headquartered in Sioux Falls is the world’s largest biofuels producer.
