Pneumonia is killing off young bighorn sheep in Nebraska.
Todd Nordeen is the big game disease program manager for the Game and Parks Commission.
He says 21 lambs dying this spring in the Pine Ridge area is a real crisis for the herd.
Nordeen says, so far, the pneumonia is staying in the Pine Ridge herd.
He says this was the third year in a row of significant lamb deaths.
The goal is to identify the strain of pneumonia, so an antibiotic or vaccine can be developed and given to the newborn sheep
