PLC Says President’s Conservation Executive Order Uncertain

President Joe Biden has signed an executive order that directs the Interior Department to outline steps to achieve the administration’s commitment to conserving at least 30 percent of lands and waters by 2030. Public Lands Council Executive Director Kaitlyn Glover says there’s a lot of uncertainty with that executive order.

She says while there’s uncertainty, there are also several concerns with the order but what’s positive is that there’s an opening for PLC to weigh in with the administration on that.

Glover says PLC representatives will inform the administration of the great job ranchers do with their conservation methods and efforts to protect the environment.

The Biden administration says their executive order will create jobs, and provide a path to align the management of America’s public lands and waters with the nation’s climate, conservation and clean energy goals.
