The Public Lands Council recently wrapped up their annual meeting and set their policy goals for the coming year. Executive Director Kaitlynn Glover says one item that took up a lot of discussion by their member is how grazers can benefit public lands and take proactive steps to prevent wildfires such as those that caused devastation in California.

She says the PLC is backing the Endangered Species Modernization Act that’s been introduced to update that federal law that hasn’t seen any updates for close to 40 years.

Glover says another piece of legislation they’re supporting is the America’s Conservation Enhancement Act which would help producers hurt by depridation caused by birds.

Glover says they’re also getting the message out of the great job public lands grazer are doing to protect and enhance the health of those lands.
