Attorneys representing BOLD Nebraska and the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska are asking the State Public Service Commission to revoke the easements granted to the Keystone XL Pipeline now that that project has been discontinued. Ken Winston who represents BOLD Nebraska says they sent a letter to the PSC with that request.

He says there are currently about 60 easements that are in question and they all face the possibility of having eminent domain imposed on them.

Winston says one of their main concerns is that those easements could be purchased by a foreign entity and along with it would come the ability to impose eminent domain.

Winston also says the current situation with Keystone XL developer TC Energy of Canada limits landowners ability to develop their property and has a negative impact on its economic viability.
