Pipeline Opponent Says PUC Decision Based On Speculation

Opponents to the Keystone Xl Pipeline in South Dakota expressed disappointment at Tuesday’s Public Utilities Commission decision to recertify the permit for the pipeline.  Rosebud Sioux Tribal member Paula  Antonie says Public Utilities Commissioner Gary Hanson voted for the recertification and like his fellow commissioners based his decision on future speculation.

Antonie (ant-wan) says Trans Canada did not meet all the conditions they needed to to warrant getting their project recertified.

She says even if Trans Canada waits for a new President to consider their federal permit, they still face an uphill battle to get that approved.

Antonie  says the battle was lost after the war was won and that the P-U-C approval of the KXL permit does not override the Presidential permit rejection.
