Dakota Access pipeline officials says they’ve received over 60% of the easement agreements they need for their project in Iowa. The company wants to pipe Bakken crude oil from North Dakota across Iowa. Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement opposes the project. ICCI’s Nathan Malachowski doesn’t believe the pipeline’s received approval on that many easements.
Malachowski says the ICCI has several environmental concerns with the project and will continue to fight against its approval.
Malachowski says ICCI has held landowner meetings on the pipeline already in Boone County, and will be holding another one in Newton June 29 as well as meetings in Des Moines and Ottumwa. He says there will be several more in late July. For more information you can check ICCI’s website.
