The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission will allow forty three people and organizations to have a say in the certification process for the Keystone XL pipeline.
Trans Canada, the company planning the line, has a permit for the west river route, but it must be recertified because no construction has started yet.
PUC Chairman Gary Hanson says they decided to open up the process to those interested parties…

Hanson says the rules are pretty broad in who can be involved in these types of cases…
Hanson says they will hold a formal hearing on the certification at a future date…
The construction of the Keystone XL pipeline has been held up due to opposition in Nebraska, and by no decision from the Obama Administration.
