After months of closure and construction, the Pine Street bridge in Yankton officially re-opened Wednesday.

Mayor Nathan Johnson says the bridge, over Marne Creek, needed to be replaced..

The sides of the bridge reflect the design of the old bridge, which Johnson says took some extra time and money…

The bridge cost about one point one million dollars, with a state BIG grant covering most of the costs.

A number of students from Webster School watched as a bus, fire truck and snow plow crossed the new bridge.
