Nebraska Congressman Adrian Smith says that if new FAA regulations aren’t eased, a pilot shortage will have a big, negative impact on rural airports throughout the Third Congressional District.
Smith says greatly increasing the required hours of training and the hours of rest have left too many airlines without pilots, causing flights to be cancelled. . .
But, Smith says the problem extends beyond rural airports. . .
The FAA last year greatly increased pilot training requirements as well as the time pilots must rest between flights.
