Pierre Chef Wins Pork Taste Of Elegance

The winner was announced at the 27th Annual South Dakota Pork Producers Council Taste of Elegance Contest last night in Sioux Falls. Chef Kelsey Anderson with the Redrossa Italian Grille in Pierre took top honors with his Porchetta with Smoked Asparagus and Poblano Cream. Celebrated Chef Tim McCarty with the Mayo Foundation House returned to judge the contest.

He says the level of competition was impressive and he can see the real payoff of the contest for the pork industry.

McCarty says the Taste of Elegance Contest is also helping drive home the versatility of pork and the quality and eating experience that can be achieved with the lower cooking temperature.

The public tasting event hosted more than 500 people.
