Philip Charities and the South Dakota Stock Grower’s are working together to help ranch families who suffered damages from the massive Cottonwood Fire that hit October 16. Stock Grower’s Executive Director Silvia Christen says Philip Charities will be sending out $ 125,000 this week to assist those impacted by the fire which destroyed 41,000 acres of grassland.

Christen says the disbursements from the fund will be made to criteria established by Philip Charities leadership based on fencing and grazing losses.

She says if you wish to donate hay to help in this relief effort you can contact the South Dakota Stock Growers.

Philip Charities will accept donations up until December 16 and any hay donations should go through the South Dakota Stock Grower’s Association.
