Thursday, EPA held a public hearing in Kansas City to take testimony on their Renewable Fuel Standard Proposal. The agency’s rule would reduce the RFS corn ethanol mandate by 3.75 billion gallons through 2016. American Petroleum Institute’s Bob Greco testified. He says EPA needs to keep the blend wall in mind and keep the ethanol volumes below 10 percent.
Greco says EPA officials have already heard most of the arguments both pro and con on the RFS levels. He urged the agency to follow the proposal they released.
Greco says many of those testifying represented pro ethanol interests which isn’t surprising due to the fact the hearing is in the middle of the ag belt. He says there were individual marketers and motorcyclists who testified that represent his group’s position.
