Petroleum Group Working For RFS Repeal

Petroleum Group Working For RFS Repeal

The American Petroleum Institute is working to try and get Congress to repeal or reform the Renewable Fuel Standard.  API’s Group Director of Downstream and Industry Operations Bob Greco says they’re making headway in the House where they’re picking up support and are close to having enough to reach a majority for passage of their measure.

Greco says his group’s problem is that the RFS has arbitrary mandates that could put the economy and consumers at risk from requiring more ethanol than can be safely blended into gasoline.

Greco says API is hoping Congress will remain focused on this issue despite the fact it’s an election year and not get distracted from what needs to get accomplished.
