Nebraskans for Alternatives to the Death Penalty are taking aim at a group that is mounting a petition drive to put the issue on the ballot. Executive Director Stacey Anderson explains why she became involved.
Anderson says a recent poll shows 58% of all Nebraskans prefer alternatives to the death penalty due to costs and the fear of executing an innocent person.
Anderson says many Nebraskans want to look at alternatives to the death penalty.
Anderson says they may work with other anti-death penalty groups to launch a larger opposition to this petition effort.
