The Center for Rural Affairs has begun a petition drive in Iowa to ask the Obama administration to close farm program payment loopholes that are hurting small and medium sized growers.   Center’s Senior Associate for Ag and Conservation Policy Traci Bruckner says the President has the power to accomplish that and it’s tied to an earlier promise.

Bruckner says the loopholes are being abused and are giving larger operators a big advantage over smaller ones.

Bruckner says while they’ve launched the drive in Iowa they intend to expand to other states and hope to reach as many farmers as possible.
