A group of Lincoln County South Dakota landowners, many of them with the group “We Care South Dakota,” have convinced the county planning and zoning board to deny permits for five weather towers. Dakota Power Community Wind asked for the towers to gather information related to a potential wind project. WE Care President Winnie Peterson says her group sees problems with wind projects and weather towers.
Peterson says many Lincoln County landowners have several problems with wind projects in general.
The Dakota Power Community Wind Board is now considering their options following the Planning and Zoning Board decision.
