Permanent Fix for E15 Sought

Permanent Fix for E15 Sought

Yesterday President Joe Biden was in Iowa to announce EPA would be granting a waiver to allow E15 use from June 1 to September 15.  He told biofuels supporters ethanol is part of their strategy for lowering gas prices.  However, this is only a temporary fix according to American Coalition for Ethanol CEO Brian Jennings.  He says the natural disaster provision EPA is exercising runs out after 20 days and will need to be reinstated several times this summer.

As a result, Jennings says the biofuels industry will continue to push for an administrative or legislative change to allow year-round E15 on a permanent basis.

Jennings says they’re cautiously optimistic about reports the White House is considering additional action to facilitate year-round E15 use.
