As of Monday, Glen Perkins is the only Minnesota Twins player schedule to participate in next week’s All Star game.
The Twins closer was named to the American League pitching staff for the contest to be played July 14 in Cincinnati.
Perkins has been perfect in saving all 27 of his save opportunities.
Twins second baseman Brian Dozier still has a chance to make the squad as one of five players named to the Final Vote category in which online voting will determine one more player for each squad. Mike Moustakas of the Royals is also one of the five American Leaguers to be voted on.
