ESPN2 will carry the Iowa State and Colorado men’s college basketball game live from the Sanford Pentagon on Nov. 13.
Due to the national telecast, the sold-out game has been moved to 4 p.m. tip-off.
The two programs in March announced the neutral-site, regular-season game will open their 2015-16 seasons. “The national exposure our region continues to receive as a result of the incredible basketball happening at venues in Sioux Falls is invaluable to Sioux Falls and our state,” said Eric Larsen, general manager of the Sanford Sports Complex
. Iowa State is coming off a Big 12 Tournament title and NCAA tournament appearance. The Cyclones went 25-9 last season. Colorado went 16-18 a year ago and received an invite to the College Basketball Invitational. Iowa State and Colorado have played 147 times; the Cyclones lead the series 77-70. The two teams last played in 2011 when Colorado was a member of the Big 12.
The Pentagon’s appearance on ESPN will mark the third time the venue has been featured on national television for a men’s basketball game. The Wisconsin and St. John’s contest was carried live by the Big Ten Network in 2013, and last year’s game between Wichita State and Memphis aired as part of ESPN’s Tip-Off College Marathon.
