PED Virus Cases Picking Up In South Dakota

Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus which has spread across the United States and into Canada has now picked up speed in South Dakota. State Veterinarian Dr. Dustin Oedekoven says cases have been picking up lately and more could be seen going forward.

Oedekoven says the virus has now been detected on over 2 dozen South Dakota farms.

Oedekoven urges producers to work with their local vets to put in good biosecurity measures on their operations to battle against PED virus.
