Past Minnesota Milk Producers Association President Pat Lunemann is serving on Governor Tim Walz’s Climate Advisory Committee. He’s hoping to bring agriculture’s contribution to benefitting the climate. Lunemann says they’ve only had one meeting so far but see several opportunities for agriculture aiding the climate as well as their economic well being.

He says there are several practices farmers are already implementing that help the environment as well as benefit climate change in a positive way.

Lunemann says agriculture is positioned well with the new administration coming in and a friendly face at the USDA to help them get ag’s climate change message across to the new administration.

Lunemann says it’s also positive that both major farm groups, the American Farm Bureau and National Farmers Union are poised to work with President elect Joe Biden on climate change.
