Past Iowa Corn Grower’s Association President Bob Hemesath is a new Board member for Farmers For Free Trade. That’s a bipartisan non profit group dedicated to backing policies that benefit trade and export opportunities for American farmers, food producers and ranchers. He says one of his priorities is making sure the U.S. follows through with its trade deal with China and strengthens that.

He also wants to see the USMCA trade pact implemented properly and enforced.

Hemesath says what’s also critical for advancing U.S. trade is what happens with the Biden Administration’s push for a solid infrastructure bill.

The other new Board members are Michael Anderson of the Corn Refiners Association, Angela Hofmann, co founder of Farmers for Free Trade, Lauren Sturgeon of CoBank and Maria ZIeba of the National Pork Producers Council.
