Zoetis, a leading animal health company is donating $25,000 to Pass the Pork for processing and storage of ground pork that will provide 40,000 servings of pork. Iowa Pork Producers Association President Mike Paustian says IPPA along with several other groups started Pass the Pork in late April to help pork producers find markets for their pigs backing up due to the pandemic and to feed those needy consumers.

He says he and his fellow producers have enjoyed the opportunity to supply food to those who are food insecure.

Paustian thanks all the partner organizations that have helped IPPA get this food out as quickly and efficiently as possible.

The Iowa Food Bank Association says there has been a double digit increase in need at food banks.
