Panama Pork Trade Agreement

Panama Pork Trade Agreement

Panama may not be the largest export market for U-S pork, but never-the-less, National Pork Producers Council officials say it is an important market.  The free trade agreement created ten years ago is about to expire, and NPPC president, Terry Wolters says pork producers want to see the trade agreement continue.

Wolters says anytime the U-S can gain access to a market through a free trade agreement it means better product movement and creates more volume.

The National Pork Producers president says another reason to maintain the good trade relations is to ward off any foreign diseases, like African Swine Fever.
