Oral Roberts secured the top seed in the upcoming Summit League Baseball Championship presented by First PREMIER Bank/PREMIER Bankcard for the 15th time in program history.

The 2015 baseball tournament takes place from May 20-23, at Sioux Falls Stadium in Sioux Falls, S.D., and is hosted by South Dakota State University. This will be the third time Sioux Falls Stadium has hosted the league tournament and the second consecutive year.

Oral Roberts earned the No. 1 seed after finishing the regular season with a 25-5 Summit League record. The Golden Eagles are the top seed for a record 15th time in 16 years competing in the league.

Second-seeded South Dakota State finished league play with an 18-11 record and qualified for its sixth tournament in seven years of eligibility. This marks just the second time the Jackrabbits will be the No. 2 seed (2011) after being the top seed three of the last five years.

Fort Wayne will be the No. 3 seed for the second consecutive season after earning its first trip to the league tournament last year.

North Dakota State is making its fifth consecutive appearance and enters the tournament at the No. 4 seed for the second-straight year. Last season, the Bison became The Summit League’s first team to capture the tournament crown as the No. 4 seed.

Top-seeded Oral Roberts (38-14, 25-5 Summit) battles No. 4 North Dakota State (20-29, 11-19 Summit) in game one Wednesday, at 2 p.m. (CT). No. 2 South Dakota State (32-21, 18-11 Summit) faces No. 3 Fort Wayne (26-24, 13-16 Summit) in Wednesday’s second game at 7 p.m. (CT).

The double elimination tournament continues with two games Thursday, one game Friday, and the championship game(s) taking place Saturday. The winner claims The Summit League’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
