A coalition of agricultural and business groups including the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association is defending the Trump Administration’s WOTUS replacement rule. NCBA’s Chief Environmental Counsel Scott Yager says the Navigable Waters Projection Rule is facing over a dozen court challenges from environmental activists.

He says the President’s NWPR is supported by their coalition because it is a marked improvement over the previous Obama ERA Waters of the U.S. rule which overextended federal powers at the expense of citizen’s rights.

Yager says the Navigable Water Protections Rule is a solid regulation that was carefully crafted and provides positive and reasonable protections for the nation’s waters.

The Coalition supporting the NWPR includes the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, American Farm Bureau Federation, American Petroleum Institute, National Corn Growers Association, National Pork Producers Council and U.S. Poultry and Egg Association.
