Oral Roberts junior Albert Owens scored 21 points, but it was career-highs of 20 points and 10 rebounds from senior guard Aaron Anderson that was the difference in the Golden Eagles’ 90-80 win against South Dakota Wednesday inside the Mabee Center.
The win ends Oral Roberts’ three-game skid to the Coyotes which included two losses in Tulsa.
Matt Mooney had 24 points, five rebounds and four steals to lead South Dakota (13-9, 4-3 Summit), which took to the road for the first time in two weeks following a three-game home stand. Trey Dickerson added 17 points and Trey Burch-Manning finished with 15.
Anderson, who had never topped 13 points in a game at the Division I level, scored 11 points during a 22-3 run in the second half that turned a seven-point deficit into a 70-58 lead. He buried two triples, converted a 3-point play, and had another layup during the rally. Oral Roberts (6-14, 2-4) maintained a lead of at least six the rest of the way.
