A bill that would have allowed Nebraskans to carry handguns without a permit died Monday night in the legislature when a motion to cut off debate failed.

Senator Adam Morfeld of Lincoln says there were too many concerns about the bill from law enforcement….

Bill sponsor, Senator Tom Brewer of Gordon was not happy with the outcome….

Brewer says the voters will know who opposed the bill…

The vote to end debate was thirty-one to nine, short of the thirty three needed to move to a vote on the bill itself.
