A 20-year-old female died early Tuesday in a one-vehicle rollover crash north of Alexandria.
The name of the deceased is not being released pending notification of family members. She was the only person involved in the crash.
A 2008 Chevrolet Silverado pickup was traveling southbound on 421st Avenue when the driver lost control near the 251st Street intersection. The vehicle crossed into the northbound lane, back across the roadway, into the west ditch and rolled over.
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
That area of 421st Avenue was closed to traffic for more than three hours.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
